Our sustainability and biodiversity program includes planting native trees on our property.

To date more than 2,000 new trees have been planted including quillayes, peumos, maitenes, quebrachos, molles, and huinganes to replace exotic species such as aromos and eucalyptus introduced more than 40 years ago. The undesired trees are cut at the base without removing the stumps in order to prevent soil erosion. Reappearing shoots are continuously removed. The new trees grow and gradually produce an ecological shift that is important to local fauna, soils, and watercourses and create new biological corridors that directly benefit the biodiversity of the land and the community.

We have replaced vines with more than 550 native trees to create a green lung in the midst of our vineyards. Other native trees have been planted in the ravines to contain water flow and stimulate more life in the biological corridors.
