Winemaking characteristics
Harvest | From 10th and 11th of April. Very cold vintage and with very high quality. Fruit selection at the vineyards. Hand-picked. |
Fermentation | Stainless steel with gentle punch downs and short pump overs. |
Barrel Aging: | 14 months in old neutral French oak barrels. |
Color: | With a bright medium ruby-red colour. |
Nose | The Syrah Boya 2018 has an intense nose of fruits like wild blackberry with a subtle profile of spices like rosemary and Herbes De Provence and the classic peppery notes, very typical from the coastal expression of this variety. A mineral note of licorice and a gentle oak character completes the bouquet. |
Palate | The palate is medium-bodied with tannins and good natural acidity towards the finish. It is well balanced, clean and expressive, ideal for pairing grill meats or a charcuterie plate or a substantial beans soup. |
